Hi! I'm Jane Rosenberg, and I've been a dog walker professionally for a sum total of 20 years! Yup! 15 years with my own service, Peace of Mind Pet Care, and part time prior to that I started taking care of animals in the Summer of 1994 in South Jersey, when it was still common to hear:
"A PET SITTER!? Hahahaha Who would pay for THAT?!
These days things are different! For one, we have these things called cell phones, email and the interwebs! heehee...(yes, it was still the day of pagers, pay phones and AOL when I started!) We also have the wonderful vocation of Pet Sitting well established and recognized as imperative to support with our animal's routines, whether during work, travel, or general shifts in schedule!
Here are some details about my personal brand of Pet Care:
CONSCIOUS PET CARE- I see pets as emotional and individual beings with their own personalities, and tune in to each one for their premium care. I also believe in and support regimens of whole food and raw food diets, pet acupuncture and massage/physical therapy, and generalized high standards of care for your pets.
RESPECT OF YOUR PET'S ROUTINES-When you are away, following the usual routine can provide comfort for your family members, and the details of how things are done is important. There is no request too weird, or protocol too unique. I probably have a story that will make you laugh about another animal who also needs to be cheered on to eat, serenaded to take their medicine, or walked to their grass patch at dusk exactly 12 minutes after dinner wearing their blue coat, not their red one, for them to take care of things.
BULLY BREED FRIENDLY-I have always been an owner of and advocate and ally of pit-bulls and bully breeds, as well as all animal breeds.
COME FROM FAMILY OF VETERINARIANS-This means that I have a lifetime of pet awareness and knowledge that seems normal to me, but likely quite expansive to others. I also have 24 hour access to emergency advice, consult, and care.
